Which is best computer engineering college in india?

I'm 19, studying computer science from what is really a below average engineering college in India. How can I make up for not caring enough to work hard for a better college?

  • High school was real fun, and college is the exact opposite. What can I do for a better graduate school life? I don't have any regrets though and I also know that I can do a lot better, so I really want to focus now. I'm ready to work hard, so can you guys please offer me some valuable tips considering my situation? My situation is in fact not a rare one in this part of the world, so your answers can help a lot of guys alongside me. And thank you for caring enough to read this question too. P.S - Your answers can be history, because I am confident enough about a big future. *With a spark in my eyes and a smile on my face*

  • Answer:

Find a passion project and do it *now*. People put too much emphasis on the college you're at, or what degree, or whatever. Bottom line: you want to be a bad-ass computer scientist coveted by all those hip tech companies? Do something bad-ass. Show that you have the ability to come up with an idea and actually pull it off. Doesn't even really matter what it is---just see it through to completion, launch it, and improve it. If it's something you love and are excited about, that energy will show through in your work. Demonstrating that you are a higher-functioning human being is the best way to attract other higher-functioning human beings. Sometimes a college degree signals this to people, but there are plenty of people who go to college and still don't so much. Some people drop out and do loads. So it's not the college program that matters as much, but how you spend your time.

Other answers

Something is missing in your question. You stated that High School was fun and College is not. You also stated that you are studying at "below average engineering college". I can't tell from the details of your question why college is not fun. My guess is the focus on your current school is massive amount of drilling to understand particular concepts: this is either too slow or too fast. Whatever the problem, you need to focus on what your goals are and then put a plan in motion. What job do you want to do? What technical information is needed for this type of work? And how can you get this in present academic situation? Answer these questions, and you may change the way you think of school.
