What size wheel is an adult bike? 26?

The 26" wheel indicates that this is a mountain bike. Mountain bikes have two sizes of wheel: 26", which is most common and 29" which is a niche market. This wheel size has been chosen by manufacturers because it gives good acceleration and cornering ability when bombing through woods or down hills. The more common sized road bike wheels tend to be larger and have measurements like 700. However, the wheel size is not important (Look at a lot of the folding bikes with small wheels). What is important is the frame size. Go to the bike shop and get on the bike you are interested in. Standing over the frame, with your feet about 1' apart, your family jewels should be between 2" and 4" clear of the frame. Using a post or wall to support yourself, sit on the bike and rotate the peddles so that the crank is at its lowest rotation. Use your heel to do this, so that your leg is locked out at the bottom of the rotation (Shift the seat post up or down until you get this position). If the seat is right down on the frame, with only perhaps an inch or so, then the frame is too big. If the seat post is extended all the way and you don't have about an inch stuck into the frame, then the frame is too small. After that, it is a comfort thing. Luck

Bikes come in different frame sizes for different size people. The wheel size is pretty much standard for the type of bike. Road and hybrid bikes use 700c, comfort, mountain, cruisers will use 26 inch tires. For short people they have 650c and 24 inch tires. Go to a bike shop and get fitted for the proper size frame.

Sports World suck! Their bikes are the very, very worst you can find. Cheap but utterly worthless. Look for a secondhand brand-name bike: Trek, Giant, Specialized, Raleigh, Ridgeback. Anything that has a bit of quality; check the tyres and chain are okay and you should be good to go. Adult bikes are sold by frame size not wheel size, they are usually 26" or 700c but there are other sizes. I'm 5' 10" and ride a 21" (large) frame.

Adult bicycles could have several wheel sizes. The wheel size does not matter all that much. What does matter is the frame size. Frame size will determine if the bike fits you. If you are tall, or very short, you will fall outside average frame size and need to consult someone

Go to a bicycle shop and see what kind of bikes they have. Each person is different. You are maybe taller than me so you may want to go with a 26 in wheel size. When you go look at bikes just make sure you ask questions. Ask if you can take the bike for a little ride around the store. if you like it and you have the money buy it. You may have to build it.
