Is this noise from EGR Valve Normal?

2000 Ford Ranger had a code scan need a EGR valve but have a sqeaking noise when I start up the car?

  • I need to know if that noise is related to the EGR valve or I have a belt or pulley problem?and I know Why are you driving and don't have money?because that is the truth

  • Answer:

don't think squeak is caused by valve (whistle maybe), best to take a look when truck is in idle and making noise, if you can't pin point noise, try using plastic hose to ear, and narrow down to cause, belt would be loose if it is the cause, if not loose, then check tension pulleys, alternator and others, http://z.about.com/d/autorepair/1/0/X/S/62513796.gif valve, http://www.car-stuff.com/mmparts/ford-ranger/egr_valve.html ..
