What is a good first car that's cheap on insurance? UK?

  • I was thinking about buying a car, one that is cheap on insurance, good for a first time buyer? I dont have a huge budget so no new cars im afraid! any help?

    I would recommend a Nissan Micra the 1.0ltr version. Might not look as good as the Corsa, Fiesta or Punto to most people but It doesn't have 'boyracer' possibilities written all over it, It Is twice as reliable as the rest and Is a pleasant/nippy little car that Is good on fuel and with 16v's Isn't too slow. On a side note unless you really crave or need a car I wouldn't fuss over one. I got my first car when I was 17 and then at 20 stopped driving because It was costing me so much money I didn't need to waste. Now I regret getting a car all together as I'd be near £4000 richer today If I didn't and could maybe afford to get one when I really need one.
