If you can, donate money -> then medicines . I am not sure about blood. You can/should also courier them your clothes. Anything that can help them. And if you are an American, you can use your country's UPS service. UPS is sending up to 50 pounds to Haiti for free! Please also ask your friends to come forward and help the victims. Almost 100,000 are feared dead! I am going to donate money. I was caught between conflicts - I am from India and I donate to poor people here. So, I was thinking I was ignoring my own country. But now I realize humanity is BIGGER than nationality. I am also going to organize some collection drives and will request my country's postal officers (I know one nearby) to courier it free to Haiti. The way UPS is doing. Poor souls! I feel awful :(.

The folks listed below were in Haiti drilling wells for clean drinking water, building schools, helping with medical aid, long, long before this earthquake. They have an established organization for aid and already have sent their first shipment of people and aid into the country. Every volunteer is self-supporting and every dime they receive is spent to the benefit of the people. They have in the past, been available to speak to groups about their mission: First Baptist Church/Haiti Relief c/o Bill Houk Agency, 102 Wisman, Clinton MO 64735 Phone: 660-885-3311. I have personal knowledge of these people and their dedicated works. Haiti sure needs them now. Right now they need money to buy whatever supplies are needed, maybe later other things will be called for. My $20 check is on the way.

Send a check to the Salvation Army earmarked "Haiti Disaster Relief". Do NOT send clothes or other items - there's no room aboard the transport vehicles and won't be for weeks and weeks to come. You could go down to the Red Cross's office near you and donate a unit of blood. They'll see to it that it's used in the most beneficial manner possible.

Donations fo clothing and things like that isn't an immediate need. The really need food, water and medical help. If you are not able to volunteer for medical help (most of us can't) money is the best. Then they can try to get the food and water needed.

They don't need clothes yet. They are busy rescuing, providing medical care, food and water. The Red Cross always needs blood. Many people are turned down for a list of reasons, so blood banks tend to be low anyway. Go here to schedule an appointment online: https://www.givelife.org

I heard on the news today that the best and fastest way is to donate money to big corporations like the red cross or the U.N, places like that. This will go though to Haiti in a matter of hours.
