    the last health visitor I had told me she had to be a nurse first then take midwifery on then she could be a health visitor.

access to higher education diploma at your local college first 1 year course followed by 3 years at university on a midwifery programme. competition is fierce, almost everyone on our college course who applied for midwifery did not even get an interview with the university never mind get on the course, bear in mind that lectures at uni can go on until 9pm and that is the reason why i am not going as i have 2 children. good luck xx
