Why do I have a learning disability?

Why would someone with a learning disability have to go to a speech therapist?

There are two parts to speech therapy: articulation and language development. A kid qualifies for articulation speech therapy due to some speech problem: stuttering or pronunciation errors. Language development is for increasing their vocabulary and word usage. Regardless, she'd have to qualify for speech and language impaired to get any speech services.

Good question! A Speech Therapist does more than just help out with speech. The therapist also helps out in the field of study habits as well. The therapist would also be helping Your daughter with her dyslexia. I have had it since I was a child and when the letters get switched around (which they still do when I get tired), it effects the way you see and pronounce a word. Look up online what a Speech Therapist does. I think you'll be surprised!
