For the Masters degree itself (yes, it is the same in the UK), you have to apply directly to the University/College. They will ask for various details, from personal, financial details to your academic qualifications. It isn't too complicated though, not as complicated as the visa. I am not too sure about what the student visa offers in the UK, but I'm pretty sure you can take up part-time work in order to cover some of the costs of living in the UK and going to university. Your passport will have to be valid over the entire period of your stay, and you may have to prove that you have over a specific amount of money in your account before you are granted a student visa.
