  • Answer:

BSN means Bachelors of science in nursing. You need two years of general courses. Then you apply to a nursing school. Now, look for a school that offers BSN because there are schools that offers diploma only, but you want your bachelors. So once you get in nursing school, you study for two years and get you a bachelors of science and enough knowledge to take exam. The exam is given by the state. If you pass, you are a REGISTERED nurse. So you need to go four years to school to get your BSN and be ready to take the exam. After that you apply to a school that offers certification as a neonatal nurse, which is 2 more years and basically a masters. Now some schools require to have experience before applying for a masters and you may need to work as a register nurse before applying to a masters program to become a neonatal nurse

Hi Alicia Attend nursing school and obtain your RN. If you get a 2-year RN, then go through a "RN to BSN" program where you will start to specialize in neo-nates. You eventually would go after a Masters.
