If I choose to major in Psychology, what besides a counselor or a psychiatrist can I become?

    1. psychology is used in alot of office jobs eg) human resources managers most of are actually psych majors 2. most universities have a course for psychology majors in which they actually teach you how to a) make a resume for psychology, b) tell you what you can get with your undergrad degree, c) tell you how and when to apply to grad school for higher psychology degrees. 3. FYI psychiatrist is a person who went to medical school PSYCHOLOGIST is what you mean who only has BSc/B.A and/or MA or PhD/PsyD degree.

you can be a psychologist or a counselor. a psychiatrist is a real dr.

While I'm not actually in psych, I have a very close friend that is. Most post secondary schools have two different psych programs; a social science one and science one. The social science program will allow you to become a counselor or psychiatrist like you mentioned. The science one will allow you to do research on some pretty nifty things like behaviors of humans, brain disorders and the like. I hope this helps you.

You can be a social worker, but I can tell you now that it will be very hard finding a job with just a bachelor's degree in psychology. In order to do much with it you need to at least get a master's. I have a friend who graduated with a degree in psychology in May, and she hasn't had any luck finding a job.
