What happens if weight of package exceeds shipping label?

I printed a shipping label for an item on ebay however, I just realized by adding the box to the item, it may exceed my 10 ounce limit. What can I do? Do I take it to the post office ...show more

Yes, you'll probably need to pay additional postage. Packages that are pre-paid for online, but go over their stated weight, will be sent back to the sender. At that point, you'll be out the original postage, too. If you're unsure, go to the post office and simply ask them to check the postage for you based in weight. They can guide you from there.
