    The B.S. degree would be more appropriate for the field you looking at. I obtained a BS in Microbiology as part of the pre-med program. Typically, the BA degrees include way too many non-essential courses (psychology, art appreciation.....), where the BS degrees will contain more core type courses. While they may not all be micro. related, they will be in the College of Science and give you a better scientific background. Also, if you’re going to pay big $$$ to the university for class fees, you might as well get some benefit from them.
