Unless she is having some sort of problem, she doesn't need to see a gynecologist until age 21 (no, not 18) or *three years after* first vaginal sexual intercourse. There's no reason for a healthy virgin to see a gynecologist. According to Planned Parenthood: "Gynecological exams are not necessary as soon as a young woman starts having her period. We now recommend that young women start having pelvic exams with Pap tests within three years of starting vaginal intercourse. If a young woman has not had first vaginal intercourse by age 21, then she should have a pelvic exam when she becomes 21 — even though she has not had vaginal intercourse." Of course, if she's sexually active or thinking of becoming so, she will need to get birth control (but not necessarily from a gynecologist). It should be your daughter's decision when or if to go, not yours.

Visiting the doctor for pap smear tests should be done once the girl is sexually active then she should be tested yearly.
