How much would you pay a gardener and how often would you expect them to work?

u pay peanuts u get monkeys depends on experience 9quid an hour is the lowest and 18 the highest, gardening is an art of its own, if u want a proper job done 10quid is good some gardens need 40 hrs a week

where I live a skilles gardener gets 315 P. HOUR. UNSKILLED £10. seems a lot to what all else here are paying but that is the going rate in the south of england. and you cant get a gardener for love or money either

Obviously you can negotiate, but you should pay the minimum wage amount per hour, and as you are paying, the hours are up to what you want to pay out! Failing that, you could negotiate an amount per job(s) - eg, £20 to cut the lawn and trim a hedge and sweep up after, etc.

I pay mines £6 per hour and he will come when I like for as long as I like.

We pay $7.50 an hour, and he works five days a week. But, we have a large place, with about 175 large plants in various beds, and it's a big job to keep everything cut back, watered, etc. He also keeps the lawn and pasture mowed, cuts trees and any other handyman jobs we need to have done.

It's dirty work, so be generous and offer £7.50 an hour. A couple of hours a week, so £15 a week. Or you could do it yourself.
