Answer:
Grass usually sprouts within a few days... Maybe you got some bad seed, or you need to use a lawn fertilizer. Aside from the odd shower, you may need to water more often as well.

You say that is has been warm and sunny and the ground is moist, but as the grass seed is only at the top of the soil, the top inch or, so can still dry out and the seed won't germinate, so you must be absolutely certain that the top surface is kept moist as about 2 hrs of sunshine will dry it, up still leaving the subsoil moist.

I put grass seed down and had to wait almost 3 weeks for the first sign of any growth.I think as the soil heats up and is able to retain some heat overnight (ie no frosts) the seeds are able to germinate quicker. Hope this is of help.

You can get it to put out shoot in two to three days

I hope you don't mean it is only 15 degrees and you are planting grass! anyway....... grass will take 3-4 weeks depending on how often you water your grass, I water mine every day about 20 minutes or every other day about 1-2 hours. this procedure to water every day to every other day is in the directions on the back of your grass seed bag. you may have to reseed as often times birds and wind will wreak havoc on the poor little grass babies.

A couple of days, make sure you water it every night for about 10 days and shoot the goddamned birds!

reckon you have some bad seed or hungry birds, you should see them sprouting within 4-5 days Creating a new lawn from seed is a lot cheaper than laying turf. And you can choose exactly the type of seed mixture you want for your new lawn. It is best to sow grass seed in warm, moist conditions so that the seeds will germinate and establish quickly. Early autumn is ideal, spring sowing gives your lawn seeds more competition from weeds. Avoid sowing in summer - even if you can water or have irrigations, young grass seedlings will suffer in hot conditions - wilting or dying. It will usually take a complete cycle of seasons before your lawn from seed is fully up to heavy wear and tear. The rate at which you sow grass seeds will vary according to the mixture or species.

It should begin to germinate very soon. two weeks is about right before you start to see it surface..
