What are the name of the flowers that close during the night but open during the day?

a lot of flowers do that. morning glories, straw flowers, african daisies, etc.

i know a lot of flowers do this, but i know for sure the morning glory and the poppy close at night

morning glories, Moon flowers do just the opposite. They bloom at night and close in the morning. moon flowers are usually white, or a light lilac color and in the light of the moon (If you are lucky enough to live where daylight savings time doesn't take away your time outside in the evening) really are beautiful. I love to plant morning glories, and moon flowers together then I have day and night blooms all summer.

There are several flowers that bloom for just a day, the day lily and morning glories are two of them. The lily grows with on a stalk with spikey leafs surrounding it. The morning glories are easier than easy to grow. They grow on vines and come in a variety of colors, blues, pinks, purples and white ones. And there is actually a plant called a Moon Flower, however it only blooms at night. It's really pretty cool. Jill Marie
