Hedgehog in my garden. What should I feed it?

cat food, they love it and its one of the best things for them apparantly

bog standard tinned dog food, and water, not bread as it swells up in their stomach

cat food is spot on, do not under any circumstances give it milk!!!

if you must feed it then cat food, worms etc

Actually, feeding hedgehogs that are searching for food could be dangerous. If it is over a year old, which you may or may not be able to find out, it is used to eating natural foods in its surroundings, and new foods, like cat food, may damage its health. Your best bet is looking up the eating habits of hedgehogs on the internet, and then look around for the closest thing. Good luck and merry feeding x

Cat food is best

if your garden has bushes , hedges etc and is not covered in slabs or paving i would be tempted to leave well alone, a safe area where it can hibernate would be good

I, too, would be a little concerned that it's still wandering around. Most of them are thinking about hibernating by now. I'd ring the RSPCA (or any other animal charity) for their views. If it's very young it may need rescuing.

Cat food is best. Milk is poisonous to them. Don't give them fish-flavoured cat food either, it too is bad.
