What age should a girl get a cell phone?

I got one when I was nine. If you go to friends houses alot your parents should let you get one so they can always reach you. Make sure to promise not to run the bill up! Try asking for a cheap phone first. And don't tell them you love to text say that you want it for emergencys. Say that at home you will always use the home phone and not your cell. If you will text alot try asking for unlimited text after they agree to get you the phone Say that you will only use it to talk to friends when you are out and you will not talk for hours! Try finding a good plan with maybe rollover minutes unlimited text or free incoming calls.

If you are a busy person and have to get in touch with your parents, I would say yes. However, if you just want one for texting and chatting with friends, I would say no. Not till you're 14 at least. You can just talk to friends at school instead of wasting money for all of the calls and txt messages. I feel that you must have a need for a phone. If you have a lot of practices and lessons, it would be a good idea, in case of an emergency or change of plans. If not, don't even waste the money. Hope I helped!

I was going to say 13 but i think 12 is ok. i know an eleven year old who has a cell phone.

Once you enter Middle School, you will need to get a phone because you stay after more often and need to call your parent to tell them, you will also start to go out without your parents and need to have a way to contact them via telephone. Texting has also become almost a necesity in today's society so the Scoop is good although I hate it because my phone company (sprint) makes the same phone except its called the rumor and it doesnt have as cool colors (lol) but I think that if you are now in middle school, it would be the perfect time to get a phone especially with the holidays coming up-it would be a great present-lol once I saw a 4 year old with a cell and im like WTH?

I think twelve is much too young and a waste of money. Try IMing your friends instead. Once you get more mobile and going places more often, then its feasible. I just think that at the moment your too young.
