When seeing any doctor they are meant to be non-judgemental, so you will not be in trouble. However, for your own health, I'm sure they would encourage you to stop smoking the weed. Routine blood tests are not conducted for checking for drugs. To do this without your consent would infringe your rights.

Epiphany

they will not be able to tell that, but they will be looking for specific things when they take blood. Like abnormal cell count, anemia etc.

No they will not be looking for the weed :-) Each blood sample sent, will be looking for a specific thing. Drs don't do drugs testing. If your dr believes you to have some kind of thyroid disease that's what they would be looking for. They will be testing your hormone levels to see if you have PCOS, but a scan would be preferable. You have nothing to worry about :-) Good luck :D

Routine labs do not look for the presence of illegal drugs.

TweetyBird

The blood is tested for the things the doc asks for , sugar level , hormone , iron etc , unless he /she specifically asked for illegal drugs , the lab will not look for them

They wouldn't be able to tell just from routine blood tests, they would have to be looking for it specifically. Smoking marijuana will not contribute to abnormal blood results.

its more important that you find out if you have the disease your talking about than worrying about ma.

Unless a specific test to look for cannabis is ordered it will not show up in a blood test, and this cannot be requested without your permission. BIG BUT! Cannabis is bad for you! Your doctor needs to know all about you to make the correct diagnosis and the fact that you are a regular cannabis user is potentially very relevant to the fact that you feel unwell. You should therefore tell him of your drug addiction and abuse. He cannot and will not 'get you in to trouble' as your medical information is confidential. He will however be able to try and help you with your drug problem! There are ever increasing concerns about the health risks of cannabis some of which are only just being identified. For example although it has been known for years than Cannabis has at least the same risks to the lungs as tobacco, recent work has shown it to be 6 times more likely to lead to lung cancer!

I have a hypothyroid condition and PCOS and these are the labs they run on me: -T3 -T4 -TSH -LH,FSH RATIOS -Total Testosterone Don't worry no drug tests there!! Good Luck!!
