I know i have an STD but ive been afraid to see a doctor and it's been a year?

this is very bad. when you leave std's alone for that long in your body they grow and can become cancerous and rot you inside (not literally) but it lowers your sperm count .

HPV (from what I've read and have been told) can cause two things. Genital warts or cervical cancer.

You should of gone to a Doctor at the first signs of having an STD. An STD gone unattended can cause further damage, may be harder to get under control. You are right, you are not a Doctor, just pray that by ignoring the signs, that you haven't caused more serious damage to yourself. You should have more respect for yourself.

I'm guessing you have the HPV strain that causes warts, as there'd be no way to know that you had cervical dysplasia without an internal exam. The doctor will just set you up to remove your warts, if that's what you opt for. Not going in earlier just means more warts.
