Why does my scalp itch so badly?

Why does my scalp itch?

  • Why does my scalp itch after blow drying it? What can I do to fix it?

  • Answer:

seems like you're drying it out with too much heat..after shampooing and conditioning rinse with cold water, this will smooth out the hair shaft and will help tame frizz , also air dry..if that's not a option use cool air. Most hair dryers have that option. Also buy a ph balanced shampoo.

Probably from the heat of the blow dryer Don't blow dry it - use a towel and then let it dry naturally

There can be many reasons, but most probably it is because of dryness. Use hair oil. Any kind will do but do not take the extreme scented ones which sometimes react bad with few poeple's scalps. And wash your hair not more than 3 - 4 times a week. Too much of hair wash can result in scalp itch too.

A common cause of rash and itch. It can be either an allergic or irritant condition. The cause may be a new shampoo, soap, hair dye, or hair product - particularly if it contains alcohol. If caused by a product most people can tolerate, it is likely you have the allergic type of dermatitis. Regardless, the mainstay of treatment is to determine the cause and remove it.

sounds like it is dry try buying some moisturizing conditioner and one that helps with dandruff may help to

Buy the shampoo Nizoral AD. It comes in a little blue bottle and you can get it at pretty much any store. In the winter my scalp gets very itchy and it is the only thing that has ever helped me. Only use that shampoo 3 times a week or so, alternate it with a regular, but good quality, shampoo.

because it's dry. try using some sort of moisturizing product before you blow-dry (I use beeswax in my hair for everything, it's perfect for my frizzy curls... but maybe something else will work better for you). They make sprays that you can use on your hair for this purpose too.

Bansuri Heartbeat

It might be dandruff. You can check by seeing if flakes fall off after itching it. It's the winter time so your hair dries out faster than it would in any other time of year
