What are the chances of a 19 year old having a heart attack?

What are the chances of a 14 year old male having a heart attack?

  • I'm not showing any symptoms of heart problems,I'm not overweight(actually I'm underweight),and I also drink a lot of water but I drink A LOT of drinks containing caffeine ...show more

  • Answer:

Generally no. In fact, it is almost impossible. But, it does happen in a rare instance. The only time I have seen/heard of it happening is when a teenager has the flu, so there are other virus conditions present. As long as you eat healthy and drink plenty of liquids, you should not have a problem UNLESS you have a physical condition that was perhaps present since birth.

The chances are slim to none. Unless you have been doing some serious drugs or have a congenital heart defect. Heart attacks in individuals under 20 are so rare they do not even show up on most statistical tables for heart attack rates.

Since your mother has genetic heart problems it's very possible that you do as well. Get to a doctor and find out. Don't tell me you haven't done this yet......that is IF you're really concerned about it.

Probably when you are 35.

these days people say chances instead of risks. so the risk of a heart attack at 14 is fairly non existent. in ireland on the weather forecast, they tell us that there is a "chance" of a shower of rain when of course it should be a risk of a shower. how the world is changing... ah well. good luck and i hope you have a long long life. cheers kevin . dont worry about your health too much. try to take it as it comes along. k.

I'm pretty sure the chances of you having a heart attack is next to nothing (unless you have a heart disease or something...but I'm assuming from the information you've given you don't). You have your old age to worry about that stuff; you shouldn't be worried at 14.

It did happen to a friends 16 year old daughter but, she had a congenital disease.

Your chances a low but try and cut down on the caffeine. As you get older look after yourself by eating well, exercising, getting enough sleep, etc.

Death awaits us all, regardless of age. If you have a history in the family of heart problems, there is a chance you might inherit it, however, you need to look at the positives. You need to first look at your lifestyle, what you eat etc. You are only 14, i wouldn't worry much. Exercise regularly, eat well, Organic foods, eat your fruit and vegs, whit meats, red meats, grains, rice, pasta, whole meal bread, low fat milk, eggs, olive oil, fish, flax seed oil, fish oil etc. Green tea is the way to go, caffeine and fizzy drinks i would stay away from. How do you know you are under weight?

ZERO, unless you do cocaine or meth.
