How can I get my eye to stop watering?

I have the exact same problem. I've been told it's allergies. I've been told it's old age (something tells me you're not anywhere near that!). I live on the N.W. coast and it was becoming quite a problem until I had to go to Tuscon for my job. It cleared up within 12 hours of being there. Now that I'm back home it comes and goes. Seems to also have something to do with the direction of the sun's rays. I suspect it is some form of recently acquired allergy to evergreen pollens. They are just finishing their first pollination season and the problem is tapering off. But if you have a relatively good GP who is willing to scope it out with you then maybe you'll find out for sure. I don't have time to goof around with doctors or specialists so just persevere. Hey ... let me know what you find out. I'm just curious.

Watering of the eyes can occur if excess tears are produced or tear drainage is affected. --Constant irritation of the eye, either due to disease of the eye or due to foreign body in the eye. It can also result from lashes irritating the eye as in ectropion or due to drying of the eye from to any cause. --Tears are not being drained properly as in naso-lacrimal duct obstruction.

for a week? go to an eye dr. you might have something in it or a scratched cornea which is irritating it.

Uh go to the doctor genius. Gee. Either that or throw some sand in it. That'll dry it up real quick. Seriously try it. It works.
