in hyderabad, if a number is say AP xx BR XXXX here BR stands for RTA office where your bike, car got registered. in hyderabad BR stands for RTA office located at SUCHITRA. guess you got it. cheers....

Registration numbers comprise of State initials, RTO office num or number assigned to district. and number series from 1 to 9999 Eg UP01-9999, UP01-A-9999, UP01-AA to AZ-9999 UP01-BA to BZ-9999 It goes like that.
