How to make friends at middle school?

Ok I am leaving middle school to go to high school. So how should I make new friends and get good grades.?

    I'm a guy... and the only way I made friends was to just be funny and make a girl think ur cute. Oh and in the beginning of the year I got 7+ hours of sleep and got all A's and B's And in the middle and end of the year i started getting 2-4 hours of sleep because I would procrastinate and now I have 3 F's which will now always affect my life for a job or for college. So, GET SLEEP. BE FUNNY.

to start- DON'T ACT LIKE A TYPICAL FRESHMAN! to get good grades, study, do your homework, pay attention in class, read assigned material, etc.. and just be nice to everyone. smile and ask how their summer was, small talk at first.

I would smile at everyone. Do not exclude anyone as a possible friend. You may never know who could be a true friend. Smile and say hello. You can ask them questions about themselves or about classes you have together. Just be yourself and don't try to impress anyone by acting different. If they don't like you for who you are, then they are not worth being your friend. Study to make good grades. Some of your friends my want to study with you. You can start a study group if you want with a few people to get better grades and at the same time, you can meet different people and become friends. Have fun and don't sweat the small stuff.

Try joining some school clubs. If your school has InterAct it's usually really fun. Know about your music, whatever you listen to. Just be true to yourself and don't do stuff you don't want to do just to make friends. So many people try too hard to fit in when they get to hs and it backfires.

Ask others about themselves and prompt them to talk about their interests whenever possible. Find common ground quickly. Just be friendly, confident and outgoing. People don't like you for who you are, they like you for how you make them feel about themselves, at least at first. Be sure to remember names and at least one detail about an interest they have. For good grades, just be sure to study at least an hour every day right when you get home from school. Don't procrastinate. Easier said than done, but there you are.
