What colleges in the US are tuition free?

Does anyone know of any colleges where the tuition is free if my family's income is ess than $40000?

  • I know something like that exists beause Texas Tech has a program like that, but i'd like to know if any other Texas colleges offer something like that, or even colleges outside ...show more

  • Answer:

Why can't you do like the people who make 70,000 a year do. They work part-time, get loans and work their butts off for the degree. Why should your tuition be free and mine is not. Do you really think my family can afford 20,000 a year anymore than yours can.

My yearly income is less than $10000 and in AR all that gets u is maybe a pell grant and a LOT of loans. Same thing in MO (where I went). Colleges are a money making business...I doubt seriously that any college is going to give you a free ride no matter what your income. $40000 is a lot of money compared to me and I barely get any help. yes uta in arlingtion just passed a bill to help under privilaged families in the county, but i think you have to be under 30,000 but you can check it out.

Alex, most schools will accept a PELL GRANT. its where you can get a loan from the government and dont have to pay it back. try to apply for that and see what happens. DONT get a reg. student loan cuz then you will get stuck paying it back.
