Answer:
You should get your GED and file a FAFSA. You say you don't qualify for financial aid because of what your parents income is. No matter what their income is, you should still qualify for a Federal Stafford Loan. It will probably be unsubsidized if your EFC is high, but even an unsubsidized Stafford will have a low interest rate and will not require repayment until 6 months after you leave school or graduate.

apply for loans and as many scholarships as possible..ALSO I would ask about what is defiend as a high school grad.... This may include getting a GED. I'm curious... does the 18 hrs that include what you are in enrolled in now? If you have 30 hrs by the end of the summer than depending on your state you may qualify for the Life scholarship( 5,000 for the yr)... Just call and talk to you fin aid at your school ask as many questions as you may have...that's what they are there for... talk to your parents and see if they can help...all they can do is say no : ) you'll figure something out just don't stress it will work out for the best ♥ Hope this helps

Fill out the FAFSA asap! A GED qualifies you for federal financial aid, which includes grants as well as loans. And besides, you won't KNOW for certain whether or not you qualify unless you apply. Don't assume your parents make too much money. Go online to http://fafsa.ed.gov and fill out the 2009/2010 application, and work with the folks in your financial aid office closely. You might be pleasantly surprised! Good luck!

You can absolutely receive fed'lly subsidized and unsubsidized loans to help pay tuition and educational costs. The interest is relatively low, they are guaranteed, as long as need is established[there is a gap between cost of attendance and your or your family contributions], and most can be deferred until graduation-six to nine months after. There are also campus based loans you may be eligible for, too. First step--file FAFSA, even if your EFC is deemed toomuch for many grants offered. All other aid is determined by that form, as well. Fed'l work study is determined by filing that form. A p/t job off campus may be an option to help fund school costs, too. You might consider filing as an indep. student, even though you live at home-your EFC will prob. decrease, making you eligible for grants, which are not repayable. That also means establish some type of rent, other responsibilities you have in the home, as evidence of your independent status, and that your parents will no longer claim you on their taxes. You've got many sources of funding in order to attend college affordably. Good luck!
