Why you asking us? It sounds to me like you know you ain't going to be putting a dime away and want us to encourage you to try. Yeah sure...you can do it! Happy? If I were your mom I wouldn't give you a penny until you throw the damn cigarettes away until you're old and bitter enough to have the justification to be a pack a day smoker. You have to earn the right to smoke em if you got em. If you want to know the way to "save" take the money from your debit and put it in a savings account so you can't play caty with a pseudo credit card.

It will be hard, but if you save every penny 2500 should come in 4-5 months, Just remember American made cars need repairs all the time. If you want a Grand Am might I suggest an Alero. They are the EXACT same car as a grand am, come with more standard features. I keep finding them with low low miles and old people selling them for cheap. Where as all the kids want a grand am, burn them out and want all they can get out of it for a new car. I bought an a 2001 Alero 3.4 V6 with 97 000 km (60 000 miles) for 4000 CAD including all taxes and fees. The car has electric seat, came with premium audio (although i put my own system in), electric mirriors, windows, locks, wireless car starter, spoiler, upgraded fog lights, sport suspension, alloy wheels... People who owned it before were 75 and kept it in a garage. Also has decent highway mileage.

look for somthing inexpensive but has some what good mileage , make sure nothing is mest up with the engine or anything, ask who was the previous owner to get an idea hpw it was used, try looking in budget car dealers not the official brand name dealers like chevy dealer etc, keep looking u can find some really good deals, always buy used for first car
