What are some clever ways to keep in touch with friends?

Is it normal for two people who are no longer together to keep in touch (relationship was more than 7 years ago, one cheated on the other but now they keep in touch as friends)?

  • What if the one "cheated on" keeps in touch with the "cheater" because she has a really rough childhood and had some psychological traumas? Doesn't seem like they keep in touch everyday but I guess are still friends. Should I be worried? I'm not sure how close they are...I will eventually ask and gauge but just curious to know if this is weird or not? I feel like since it's been long I shouldn't be too worried. She has a boyfriend too.

I am friends with most of my exes, so yes, I'd say this is normal. I think it's a good sign, not a bad one, when exes can maintain a friendship.

I'm friends with all of my exes, including one that cheated on me. I don't see anything unusual about it. Of course there's healthy as well as unhealthy friendships, but that's true regardless of if the person you're friends with is an ex of yours or not.

I don't have an 'ex' that I'm not friends with. All I know is that they were a really important part of my life at some point... Maybe not as important today as to sway my decisions, but still part of a cherished memory... and while I don't interact with them on a day to day basis, I still like to think of them as people who mattered and just because we are not together does not banish them from my existence. They kinda made me what I'm today, after all
