Do you have to take a placement test at the beginning of college?

Do i need to take the placement test (math & english) first before applying for a community college?

    Take the ACT/SAT...if your scores are high enough, then some CC wont make you take the placement test. If you are not fresh out of high school, then of course take the placement test. AND some school MAKE you take the test...that way you are in the class that you need to be in...taking a remeial course to get a firm footing in a subject before moving on to the next level can only help you in the long run.

It's up to the individual college. Sometimes your SAT scores can be used instead of the placement exam if you scored high enough. Since most community colleges let everyone in, the exam is used for placement instead of admission, so you probably don't need to take it now.

They administer the test before you pick your classes. You apply as Early as you can, then there is an orientation and the test and then enrollment and by the time you get in there nothing will be left, but you get priority enrolment for next semester.
