    Each friend will have a specific type registered to him or her and they will each have 3 Pokémon of that type assigned to them but the 3rd Pokémon will not show up unless they've defeated the Elite 4. In the case of Friends themselves, you can have however many you want but there's a total limit of 100 friends on your 3DS. You will need different people added to get all of the Pokémon that are potentially available in the Friend Safari.
