I'm sure some will say they have nothing against such individuals and some will even claim to prefer the company of a quiet man or woman over a loud individual. But even though ...show more

Introverts are the ones sitting quietly in their offices, clickity clickity on their keyboards, writing the code, debugging, testing. They are the ones getting the real work done. Introverts are the ones sitting quietly in an open field with Mabe, Blaise, and Hannah, enjoying the tranquillity of Nature's peace and pulchritude, pounding on a big bass drum.

I'm an introvert. I don't like the thought of having to converse with strangers, and the thought of being shoved into a situation where i might HAVE to will often make me back out. Such as a "meet the family" dinner. I can't think of anything worse! This also applies with public speaking. It's the reason i don't have many friends, and also the reason my ex managed to skip a GBH charge. No offence, but i have no interest with speaking with strangers. I don't like having to sit next to people i don';t know either, like when you're on the train or plane. I like being on my own. I'm sure this is the consequence of my upbringing but hey, it's who i am. I like being on my own Let me add, i'm more than happy to engage strangers that need my help ie needing directions. Id never be rude, and i actually like doing it. But as soon as it's prolonged, and i can't get away from the conversation when it starts to get personal (like on transport) i hate it Haha Facade, i guess that's actually true. I've said so many time's that i'd rather be the person getting all the "boring, repetitive" stuff done that no one wants. I love it. Get to work my brain while at the same time not having to speak to anyone! Perfect!

I can hear nature being around a peaceful person. That's always good. I don't have a problem at all with an introvert that doesn't have to have something going on all the time. They can work/play or rest quietly on their own. I can too. I wouldn't want to live it that way all the time, but a good mix of the two would keep the peace, and keep it from getting too boring.

For me, personally, it depends a lot on the introvert... I am an extrovert and as they say, opposites attract, I happen to be married to an extreme introvert. The question for me is, however, does he or she make me (or others) feel uncomfortable by not smiling when approached, for example at the bank, at the store etc I can sometimes feel uncomfortable with a very quiet person if his or her facial expression or body language is giving me (perhaps misinterpreted signals) of ¨ I do not want to talk to you , Back off¨ Most people want to feel recognition and acceptance by others, (whether they admit it or not) An introvert who also looks cold might make some people feel unaccepted or even rejected. Some introverts , such as my father was, are very intelligent people and tend to only say something that is worth listening to...which is very positive. They are often in deep thought or learning something new. Some quiet people are very good listeners. I find to be with a caring but quiet person is relaxing, whereas someone who is the other extreme, who talks nonstop irritates me

Yes. People who are not introverted do not understand those who are and so they assume that they are shy, depressed or snobbish. I'm an occasional introvert...in situations where I'm extremely bored.I noticed that I get asked then "why are you so calm?" or "why don't you talk much?"..one guy even told me after a convo :"you are actually nice"...lmao

I've always been quite introverted. I can talk plenty when I feel like it, but I just tend to be quiet, and people all throughout high school noticed. I go to a large university now, so no one bothers me about it, but in high school, teachers always seemed concerned about me. I suppose they didn't realize that I was perfectly fine, I'm just not a big talker. A couple kids didn't seem to understand. A kid from the football team would pick on me occasionally, saying "she never talks. I don't think I've ever heard her speak", when really I did have a small group of friends and spoke whenever I wanted/whenever spoken to. I think there are just several types of personalities, and since we don't necessarily understand one another, we judge. To be completely fair, I've always been weary of people who talk constantly. I feel unnerved by people who can't sit still and reflect every once in awhile. I guess it's all about perspective.

I tend to be more of an introvert and sometimes I feel less important but then I think if I were more outgoing maybe people would think more postively of me

yes theyll think your awkward if you dont talk
they usually do because people are stupid and don't understand so they like to say your awkward or weird.
