What's the difference among "Country, City, Province, Region, State, District, Territory and Republic" ?

take ur house- group of houses -street group of streets- town(including shops,theatres,places of worships, entertainment areas, eateries, hospitals) this town may be a city if it is developed and having good infrastructures( it should have airport,employment opportunities etc) group of towns and cities- district group of districts- state group of states- country group of countries- continent province, region and territory - all three can be of any amount of selected piece of land on any common basis. republic- if a government is selected by common people through election the country is termed as republic country.
