Specially made suits to go to funerals?

Just normal suits.

you just wear a regular suit or a black dress.

black or other dark colors are acceptable. very conservative, like you're going to church NOT a party.

Black is not always the color of funerals, unless its some formal political muckymuck that is getting buried then everyone wears fancy dress For a normal family/friend funeral, ask first what colors they want, my Dad hated black so when Mom died and when he died I wore deep purple. The object is to keep it in darker hues of color unless they request that people wear bright and happy colors to rejoice about their life, some do that now. So call ask the funeral home if you are not close to the family, make sure you are in line with what they wanted. There is no special suit for men and certainly not for women
