Why do some cable channels not have any sound?

I have Comcast Digital Cable and the channel guide works but no picture/sound for any channels?

We just hooked up our Digital Receiver from Comcast and the On-screen Guide shows up with all the right info, but none of the channels have picture or sound, EXCEPT for Channel 1 ...show more

Get rid of ComCast. They are HORRIBLE!! Satelite companies are cheaper in the long run. ComCast can up their prices with out letting you know. Satelite is forced to keep you at the same rate.

That happened to me and we had to call Comcast and put a special code into our remote. It was bizarre, frustrating, and a waste of time to have to call for a stupid code! Call them though and they'll walk you through it. Good luck!

Try unplugging the box from the power and plug it back in after 10 seconds. This will reboot the box. The booting time may take up to 10 minutes so don't worry if it takes a while.

You will get the same thing if you take a box to a new house and plug the box up without getting the service x-fered. Basically what your seeing is what the box does on it's own...the cable company is not sending the signal to get the channels your suppossed to get...call them and have them sweep your signal.
