How can i get my laptop to play dvds?

    first of all, if its a burnt version of the movie, that might be the problem. also, check to make sure its clean, and unharmed. if all that is good, when u insert the disc, and u get the msg, take it out and reinsert it and that should force the decoding software to reset. if youve been able to play dvds before, try restarting ur media player, and make sure you have the latest version of media player. if you've never been able to, you may not a have decoding software, and it wont play them until you get it.

There are many different freeware DVD programs you can download to play DVDs that say that are "Restricted" etc. VLC Media Player is the Best. I love it, it pretty much plays everything I want it to. You can find it here: http://www.download.com/VLC-Media-Player/3000-13632_4-10267151.html Its free. And you will love it. You can also try going into My Computer when you put the DVD and find another approprate program that ay be found on your computer (there is awlays usually a default DVD player installed on your laptop when you get it. 99% of the time.) mmmm. install something else then, find and install VLC media player. it usuall plays all kind of files and works when everything else doesn't

you have to get this cd they sell in any electronicks that is speacial for the cd and if not its your laptop the might have a virus either way

Well maybe call the companny you bought it from to help you or give you some advice because i cant help you on this one. i have a regular computer and i just slide the dvd in and it plays fine.
