Check with A.M.Best, Moody's. These companies rate insurance carriers in the United States. You want a company that is no less than a B rating or ++. Hopefully you know why you need the insurance. Now you need to decide between whole life and level term. I will never sell whole life because when you get up to what you need covered, premiums become very expensive. You can get fully covered and have money left over to invest for your retirement using level term. Watch out for whole life agents claiming whole life is a retirement vehicle and/or a savings vehicle. If you get one who does, get their name and license number and report them to your states insurance commissioner, THIS IS ILLEGAL! Insurance and savings should never be combined.
