Do people hire fast or do they wait a wk or two till theyre done interviewing and checking references?

  • like if they hire me after my interview on thursday would i be going to work on friday? or do they need to take time to check your criminal history etc., or finish interviewing others?

    It could depend on several things; how desperate they are to fill the position, how high (or low) the turn-around is in the place, how their budget is set up, background checks, application processing and getting accounts like phone login, e-mail, and payroll set up, etc. I've had a few jobs where I didn't actually start working until 3 months after being interviewed. It just depends on how the company is structured.

It all depends on the company and how many they need to hire. If they're really impressed with you, they may extend you an offer on the spot and have you start as early as probably Monday, however that's generally unlikely.

Depends if they need you right away or not(sometimes they expedite the process if they do)In the meantime just apply or call for other jobs in case you by chance do not ge that one.You have to be the aggresor here.
