What happens if you sell a fake item on ebay?

  • I do not want to sell fake items, but i have some items which i brought off somone and that person said that they were not fake. If it is fake and i sell the 1 item what will happen.

    It certainly isn't OK to sell a fake on ebay, whatever you describe it as - completely against their policy. Do so and you are highly likely to be found out (buyers aren't stupid). Ebay takes a tough line on this and you could find yourself banned for life. I think you know they're fakes, don't you - they were just too cheap to be real....

If eBay thinks you are selling a fake item, they will cancel the listing and suspend your account. If a buyer receives a fake item and they raise a dispute, they will get their money back and they will be told to destroy the item. Then you will be banned from both PayPal and eBay. If you don't have proof that they are genuine, don't even try and sell them on eBay. eBay is very strict about fakes.

The buyer may post a negative review about it and your credibility takes a hit or something. I dont know what other actions that the fake item may lead too, but it probably wont be good for the seller

Dumb comment from Bearface - ignore it. Never OK to sell fakes.

At first you will lose your credibility due to negative reviews and secondly you will be banned temporarily or even permanently by eBay. So, it is not advisable at all to do these types of activities.

selling fake goods is an offence (whether you know they are fake or not) - so you COULD have the police after you Its even worse if you sell them knowing them to be fake
