No need to think u were the problem. Temporary assignments are just that and don't necessarily have to run to the end of the term. There could be 'n' number of reasons why the position was terminated. Maybe an internal employee got the job and the company informed your agency that they did not need ur services; they sometimes cite learning as an excuse just so that the agency won't bug them anymore; agencies don't like to argue on behalf of the person who was let go (no matter what the reason) because they want continuing business with the client. Just forget about it and move on. No point trying to analyze the situation. Good Luck and ur next search.

just explain things to the temp agency, they probably won't hold it against you - nothing else you can really do

Loan processing is not a job for a temp. 3 weeks is a drop in the bucket when it comes to learning the job. I work in the mortgage business & it takes a good 6 months to learn to really be a good processer. They should not even have tried to go thru a temp service. Don't feel bad, I'm sure you did your best- its the banks fault. Good Luck

Yeah, well, I worked a major computer mfg. Worked there 3 different contracts. I noticed the production lines that had a high ratio of ethnics got the offer in the cafeteria to go perm at 89 days. The rest of us were told to hand in our security badges at the front desk. To sweeten the whole deal, the last paycheck had deductions for missing hand tools. (We're talking gloves or wrist straps).

I worked for a temp agencies for a long time, and the companies usually pay more money for temps, because they have to pay your salary plus the agency, so it costs them more per day. Also, if you are hired by them, they have to pay a fee to the agency. They may just be using the agency temporarily and not telling the agency or you. They may be interviewing while the temp agency has someone placed in their office. The other scenario is that the agency knows this, but wants to make the money anyway. I worked at a law office and they were looking for permanent help and did not hire me either, they looked outside the agency, so they did not have to pay the fees. (I worked at the law office for 3 months, so how bad could I have been?) Interview candidates came in while I was working there. Dont feel bad, it is not you. Lots of luck out there.

This happening is to be expected with temporary companies.

It likely wasn't anything you did. Companies often use temporary labor to supplement busy peaks. When it's not so busy, then they can easily reduce their workforce. It is a cost efficient way to have a flexible work force.

That is the meaning of a TEMPORARY agency. Business can easily TEMPORARLY acquire / release employees as business needs dictate. That is why they are willing to pay a premium for the temporary workers. You stated they did'nt have much work for you to do? Why would they pay your temp agency $20/hr for you not to do anything? The India error probably didn't have anything to do w/ it.
