How to sell creative products?

How do you source the products to sell on a ecommerce store?

  • In short, I have an idea for an online store.  It's nothing groundbreaking, really, but it's something I want to try to build a niche in.  I have a pretty good idea of the products I want to sell.  Some would be cheap, but most would be pretty reputable, name brand stuff (electronics and accessories).  How do I go about sourcing these products?  Everyone says to dropship- so where do I find drop shippers for the specific products I have in mind?  I've been looking around but a lot of the stuff I'm finding is knockoffs.

Honestly there is no way to compete with Amazon / Wal-Mart / Best Buy / etc in the electronics or accessories market unless your product is very niche or very unique. There will be very little to no margins and you'll need massive scale to make it worth your while. In the gadgets / accessories market the best dropship service I've heard about is DX ->  http://dx.com/dropship If you want to source your own products from China check out Alibaba. Dropshipping will always have lower margins as you are sharing profit with everyone in the supply chain from manufacturer, wholesaler, and dropshipper. You get what's left.
