What is a nice truck for teenager?

What would be a good car/truck/Suv for a teenager that is not too powerful, not old, but safe?

  • If you would have any ideas, that would be good. He just told me that he wants an SUV or car, but he doesn't know where or what to look at.

  • Answer:

I know u didnt ask for old but these cars r pretty good. i would say a mid 80s Regal,Monte Carlo, or a Cutlass. Just make sure the car doesnt have a lot of rust a take it to a repair shop and ask for them to check it out.

Get him a slightly used Jeep Cherokee. I say used because of insurance costs. Or even a regular Jeep. My son has one. Used Hummer. Used Range Rover. I have five kids and my son has his jeep, my daughter has a 1983 Mercedes, my other daughter has a 1983 blue Mercedes and my third daughter has a 1966 Buick Wildcat. She wanted a pimp car. It sucks the gas. But what I listed is the best and safest for guys.

I would recommend for the BEST SUV for a teen, would be a Ford Escape. If you prefer a hybrid, it comes in that model also. They are safe and not too much power to over whelm a new driver, 4 or 6 cylinders are options. 23/36 mpg wont cost to much on gas either. Good Luck

If l was buying far a teen --Would get a single cab 1/2 ton pickup---The reason for the single cab ,so cannot have a bunch of buddies in vehicle with them. And also the pickup offers more protection in case of accident l think---Good luck

Get him a 2005 or 2006 Chevy Trailblazer. I'm a teenager and this is the car my parents got me. Its not too powerful, but it will get you where you want to go in good time. I especially love this car because I was in an incredible accident in one. I flipped the car 3 times going at about 40 MPH and I was completely uninjured. The car took the brunt of the blow and cusioned me well. Its also priced pretty well. In california, you can find a 2005 model for about 21 grand. If you want to pay less than that though, I'd suggest a honda CRV. Even though they are not nearly as safe as the trailblazer because they are shorter and less wide, making them less stable, they are still a great SUV for most teenagers. Hope this helps.

I like the Toyota RAV4's. They 1st came out in 1996 so the price should be just right for you. Dependable, reliable and fuel efficient.

Why not have him test-drive a few SUVs (with your supervision) at car lots? This way you can see how they handle, and he can see which ones he likes. Do be aware SUVs handle differently that passenger cars. The higher it is off the ground, the higher its center of gravity. For this reason you might want to avoid those with aftermarket off-road lift kits. For safety & reliability ratings, go to Consumer Reports.
