Where can I learn Telugu?

How can I learn Telugu and/or Tamil?

  • I speak English and some Spanish; my boyfriend speaks English, Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. I'd like to pick up some of the latter three languages before visiting his family in India, but I can find no language learning programs (local classes, computer programs, books) for Telugu and Tamil. Of course, he's teaching me a little, but I'd like something more systematic. Does anyone have any advice for learning even introductory Telugu and Tamil? I'm located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

If you want to learn any new language, make it your FIRST language, i.e. the language in which you THINK.

Stay at a only-Telugu-speaking place for some time. Not in ahotel but ina hostel or pg and do day to day chores.Make sure you dont have any one you know who knows both your language and Telugu. This will force you to learn Telugu out of neccessity.;)

You want to learn Telugu?, talk to Telugu people listen to them almost all the time...in Telugu, encourage them to talk to you in Telugu itself, that is the only way to learn Language, not by books.

well assuming that you are an Italian, it will be easy for you when compared to other Europeans to pronounce Telugu , since Italian and Telugu are the only two major languages in which every word ends with a vowel. And coming to learning, try to watch Telugu movies with subtitles and observe them. There are many videos on YouTube which can help you in learning the alphabet. I agree that it is quite difficult to learn but with a little effort you will succeed. NOTE: movies with subtitles will definitely help. I am saying this because that is how I  mastered my English.

Why do you want to woo her by talking in Telugu? She's in US which means she would be knowing english. Contact her on FB or email. Confirm if she likes you. Just going there assuming she would fall for you is a waste of time. You have better things to do apart from running for this girl.
