What is ground shipping?

Ground. By truck, as opposed to overnight which would be by plane. They throw it on truck, it takes longer to get to you, but it's cheaper.

They grind your package up and shovel it onto a truck. No, it means they use trucks to deliver it. Takes longer that way. Sometimes it's more convenient for them to put your package on a plane and they will do that, thereby getting it there faster, but they won't charge you extra. Always select ground unless you really can't wait, like for a birthday present.

ground shipping means its never going to enter an air plane,,it will travel by ground ,by what ever means they can get it to you ,usually if its says over night ground shipping, it will travel by jet to the closest point to you then get the rest of the way by ground,,good luck happy new years.
