Which to buy?? An Alfa Romeo 147 1.6 lusso or an MG zr 1.4?? They cost the same and insurance is similar. ta.?

rover stuff is very old technology wrapped up in shiney body kits. i had a rover coupe tomcat N reg.. it felt like an old b reg or sumthin. You cant seriously compare a rover with an Alfa. Every one shud own an alfa at least once. The noise from the engine is very nice.. I had an 2litre 155 (like the old touring cars) whice made a much nicer noise than the wrx i have now. Get the Alfa and enjoy.

The 147!!!!! By miles. It's newer, quicker, easier to get parts for and (unusually for an Alfa) more reliable. I have been in an MG ZR and the interior is v dated. Not like the beautiful handcrafted interior of the 147. The 147 will also be more saleable later on, while there is more space. Oh, and the badge is better. There really is no competition

ALFA of course... why are you even considering a mg zr ? italian cars are designed built and tested by perfectionists.. mg's were designed, built and tested by underpaid overworked ex miners who were employed part time by mg rover GO WITH THE ALFA

They are both poor makes of car, but the Alfa is the better of the two, MG are poorly designed made on the cheap, no back up , thats why they disappeared

The 147 is perhaps not the most desirable Alfa, but for me it's a million miles ahead of the MG. It's made by a company that still exists, for a start!

what is it with you people?, the only good Mg's are the diesel ones, the petrol ones have a serious fault with the head gas kit, it is a thin peace of metal with silicon beading around the oil ways and waterways, the head gas kit will go, its just a case of when, and even if its been changed it will go again, steer clear of petrol rover Mg's, alfa romao are brilliant cars apart from a few electrical problems but nothing serious, the engines are bulit proof, comfort and handling are very good, and styling is a++++, go for the alfa

Alfa may still be alive and kicking but try getting spares from them (3 months for a wing mirror) I'd have the M.G. if I had to chose but would prefer to buy a Fiesta

Alfa all the way, the mg is crap nothing to it, it will lose value so quick you won't believe it, have you thought about a golf? That is a much better car.

Same power! it sayes a lot when Alfa need a 1.6 to compeat with MGs 1.4! The MG will Handle better, cost less to run and make you smile more all round! end of the day its up to you but Im MG all the way!
