    open the cheat box (crtl+c) at the neighborhood screen. enter: boolprop testingCheatsEnabled true exactly as i typed it. then, go to the Sims Maker and Have the sim's name start with an N. (You don't have to keep the Sim, or keep it's name with an N). When you are teaching your pet, show your active Sim's needs. You will be able to drag them to green. Have the game in 3 times nomal speed, while teaching your pet, just keep dragging your need bars to green. That way, it takes less time.

If the sim is wearing that aspiration gift where it is a green hat and a light bulb is on top, that makes you learn a skill 3x faster. I have heard that it also helps sims who it is teaching to get skills 3x faster. I don;t know if a sim pet falls under that rule, but you can try. Hope that helps!
