How to get flash powder?and also how come when i try to make a bomb out of firecrackers it just burns out?

Im just wondering 4th of july is coming up and need some tips/help on making bigger fireworks...

to get an explosion you need to have compression of the powder. There has to be a build up of energy and then a rapid release of that energy. It has to be a tightly closed container, otherwise your just making a very dangerous flare.

Flash powder is considered a High Explosive by the BATFE. It is illegal to make or own without a Type 20 High Explosives Manufacturing License from the BATFE. Without this you will go to jail if you're caught and you will most likely be labeled as a terrorist (I've seen it happen several times). It's definitely not worth it. Also stupid people making illegal exploding fireworks is one of the top reasons fireworks are illegal in so many states.
