What is the difference between a major in bioengineering and a double major in biology and engineering?

It is the same difference as majoring in Biochemistry compared to a double major in biology and chemistry. The focus and emphasis of each subject is placed on different aspects. You would also not be taught how to integrate the two disciplines together effectively.

Bioengineering has to do with manipulating the genetics of animals, while a double major in biology and engineering would be suited for one who wants to become an architectural veterinarian, or a veterinary architect. But not a bio engineer. Got it?
