    I found the best method of treatment for me was natural and holistic. It is the use of Armour thyroid. The oldst thyroid medication that is still around. It used to be adjusted by how one felt. Today it is adjusted by free t3 and free t3, with a few doctors adjusting it by body temp. I started out on Levoxyl. It did nothing for my symptoms at all. I eventually added Cytomel to the Levoxyl and it helped a lot, but I wanted more. I switched to Armour over 4 years ago and I'm almost symptom free. Links on Armour below Some people will tell you to take kelp, but that only works to correct the condition if the thyroid problem developed because of iodine deficiency. Taking it and not knowing if you need it can make you become hyper and cause your heart to race. I do take a small amount of kelp, but only after I got the thyroid regulated and only because I was iodine deficient.

I have tried just about every thyroid supplement in the health food store...with no good results. I also did certain yoga positions (shoulder stands) which are supposed to stimulate the thyroid. The only thing that helps me is prescription medication... synthroid.
