You can get help to write a good resume at a local EDD office or a ONE STOP location. Look in your yellow pages for the local office under employment. These locations have computers and people who can help you write an effective resume. They don't charge for a resume as they are state or locally funded. They will help you use a WINWAY resume program that basically writes itself. You fill in the blanks.

There are resume templates on microsoft word which you would be able to use, I think also on Microsoft Works if you don't have word. my suggestion is that you get someone who is good with their words to help you with your Personal Statement so that it sounds professional, and if you are good with words, then get someone to check it for you. Do a web search for Free Resume Templates and many sites will come up. Just filter through them till you find what you are looking for. On line resume writing services are VERY expensive. Your supermarket experience is a plus, list all your past jobs and hopefully you have not flip flopped from job to job, that does not look good to a potential employer, that just means you are not dependable.
